Q1) Will the online MSc. DS be recognized while applying for jobs?
Yes, VIT’s online MSc. DS degree is UGC-entitled and accepted by governments, corporate organizations, and higher education institutions.
Q2) I am a fresher. Am I eligible to apply?
There is no minimum work-experience criteria. If you qualify the eligibility criteria, you are eligible.
Q1) How will the participants be evaluated?
Participants will be evaluated through a combination of internal assessment and an end-term examination, with a 30% weightage given to the internal assessment and a 70% weightage assigned to the Final Assessment Test (FAT) or End term exam.
Q2) What are the components of Internal Assessment?
Internal Assessment has 3 components:

Q3) What is a proctored examination, and what are the requirements for appearing in exams?
Final Assessment Test (End term examination) will be conducted in centres in offline mode. Currently, VIT has 20 centres across India. VIT centre list will be expanded.
Q4) Are assignments mandatory?
Yes, they are part of continuous assessment.
Q5) What is the passing criteria for each course?
Students have to score a minimum of 40% in FAT. Overall, they need to secure a minimum of 50% marks in each course.
Q6) In case I fail in the course, can I re-appear for the exams?
Yes, you can re-appear for the exams. Participants have to pay a re-examination fee of INR 1000 per course.
Q7) Is it required to attend live online sessions?
Yes, a minimum participation of 75% in all activities is necessary. Q8) How many compulsory live sessions are there per course?
There is one live session per week per course.
Q9) How do I retrieve my course materials?
Enrolled students can access their learning material through LMS.
Q10) Is it necessary to buy textbooks or software?
All the necessary materials are provided through LMS. If students wish to procure books for their additional reading, they can at their own expense.
Q11) Is it possible to contact faculty members outside of weekend live classes?
Yes, you can submit your queries through the learning portal, and the faculty/Academic mentors will respond within 48 hours.
Q12) What is the maximum duration to complete a degree programme?
For degree programmes, the maximum duration for completion shall be double the minimum duration of the respective programme.

Confirmation of admission occurs after document verification and payment of the first instalment fee.

No, there is no entrance exam for joining the VIT Online Degree programmes.
Q7) Can a student simultaneously pursue two degree programmes?
According to the University Grants Commission (UGC), you can pursue both an on-campus degree and an online degree at the same time.
